Ignotos started as a World of Warcraft guild in 2007. It's grown into a gaming community with room for whatever you play - you might find us through WoW, but you don't have to stay for WoW.
Where we came from
WoW is still a big part of Ignotos. It's just not the only part.
2007
Ignotos forms as a World of Warcraft guild.
2021
Grows into an all-encompassing gaming Discord community.
Today
Built around people, games and friendships - whichever comes first.
What people are actually playing right now, beyond WoW:
You can join because you play WoW. You can join because you play something completely different. You can join because you just want people to game with. Nobody needs to play everything.
So... what actually is Ignotos?
Our Discord is organised into divisions, one for each main game - World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy each have their own, and there are others for whatever else people are playing. Every division has a leader to keep things organised, so there's always someone steering and somewhere to land no matter what you're into.
World of Warcraft is one of our biggest divisions on the Discord server. We play both Retail and WoW: Forever, running Dungeons, Mythic+, raids and other events. The WoW Division is what our foundation is built on.
Visit World of WarcraftEvery other game can have its own space, players, events and leaders. A division doesn't mean a formal guild or clan - it's just a place to find people who play what you play.
Visit Other GamesGames change. The community stays.
How Ignotos works
Everyone belongs to the wider Ignotos community.
Choose the games and categories you're into.
Find members who play the same things within your Division.
Join the conversations, groups and events around them.
New here? Start here.
Joining is only the beginning. Here's the whole journey, one step at a time.
Head to #introduce-yourself and tell us who you are, what you play, and what brought you here. “Hey, I'm Alex. I found you through WoW, I main a Warrior, and I'm also playing a lot of Helldivers at the moment.” That's it. That's the whole bar.
Grab the game/category roles that match what you play. It's how people find others who like the same things, and how the community can ping you about stuff you'd actually care about - instead of everything.
Don't be afraid to leave general chat and head into your game's own space. General chat is for general chat - got something to say about WoW? Awesome, just don't drop it in general and wonder why nobody there knows what an Ara-Kara is.
“Anyone up for some M+ tonight?” “Anyone fancy some Rocket League?” “Looking for two more for CS2.” That's what #looking-for-groups is for. Use it - it's the fastest way from lurking to actually playing with people.
Raids, Mythic+, gaming nights, tournaments, seasonal stuff, completely random games - events are where most friendships actually start. Show up even if you don't know anyone yet. Especially if you don't know anyone yet.
Chat. Play. Invite people. Run an event. Suggest a game. Help someone out. Share a screenshot. Ignotos isn't a server you sit inside - it's one your presence actually shapes.
Not a WoW player?
Ignotos started with World of Warcraft, and WoW remains a major part of the community - but plenty of our members have never raided a night in their life. You don't need a WoW character, raid experience, or Mythic+ experience. You just need to be interested in gaming and meeting people.
Get involved
Guild, raiding, Mythic+, dungeons and progression.
Find people playing whatever you're playing.
#looking-for-groups is where you'll find people to play with tonight.
Regular and seasonal events across different games.
Share memories, screenshots and moments from your time with Ignotos.
Talk, joke, share, help and meet people - that's most of what happens day to day.
Your Ignotos journey
Every character has someone behind it. Every username has a person. Every raid group, every late-night voice call, every “one more game” has people behind the pixels - and that's what actually sticks. Not the game you were playing, but the adventure you had while you were playing it. Over time, those moments add up: memories worth adding to the scrapbook, inside jokes nobody outside the group would get, people who started out as strangers and stopped being strangers somewhere along the way.

What we ask from you
There's a real person behind every username.
Remember what it was like to be the new person.
The community works when people actually participate.
Someone needs a group, or has a question? Answer if you can.
We want Ignotos to stay somewhere people actually want to be.
Why Ignotos?
Everyone starts as a stranger.
You join not knowing anyone.
Someone says hello.
You join a game.
You end up in voice.
You recognise the same names.
Someone invites you to something.
Eventually, they're not strangers anymore.
Come for the game, stay for the people.
“I joined for a Wrath of the Lich King guild run in 2009. I'm still here, and most of the games we play now didn't exist back then.”

Ground rules
Ready to meet the unknown?
You don't need to know anyone before you join. That's kind of the point.
